The CINCOM L20-VIII has been specially developed for high-precision manufacture of simple and complex parts in medium to large batch sizes. It offers all-round versatility and flexibility with its many options and extremely short setup times. All axis movements and even the opening and closing of chucks are implemented by servo motors. As a result, actuation times are reduced by around 50% by comparison with conventional CNC lathes which rely on hydraulics/pneumatics for auxiliary functions. Built-in servo motors require less space and minimise the occurrence of faults.
 
Improved Productivity!
  • New 'Streamline Machining' control system
    • Overlapped operations of tool posts - 2 independent tool posts can be moved synchronously to reduce idle periods. For example one toolpost can start work on the next process before the other tool post has fully retracted.
    • Overlapped movements of axes - In a tool replacement or thread cutting operation, axis movements can begin before an operation using another axis has completed. This can greatly reduce idle time.
    • Direct spindle indexing function - the time taken for returning to zero point and spindle indexing are greatly reduced by defining the zero point at which the rotating axis is decelerated and stopped.
    • Smooth acceleration and deceleration with the minimum shock - smoothed acceleration and deceleration operations reduce any shocks transmitted to the machine whilst still enabling fast performance.
  • Increased gang tool post flexibility:
    • Flexible tooling arrangements allow extra cross rotary tools, extra turning tools or extra end-working rotary tools depending on your priorities.

Reduced Cycle Times, Easy Maintenance, Increased Reliability

Citizen's control system makes it possible to control all machine movements simultaneously. By using intelligent servo motors on both axis movements and miscellaneous functions such as opening and closing the collet cycle times are reduced. The elimination of all hydraulics and pneumatics makes machine maintenance easier and increases reliability.

 
Servo Motors all-round

The machine uses small, high performance servo motors with increased torque (+30%), reduced heat generation and increased resolution. The use of motors all-round increases reliability over machines which use pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Latest Mitsubishi CNC System
 

The Mitsubishi M700 series control provides super-fast NC processing to greatly increase productivity.

The complete control system is integrated into the swiveling operation panel which incorporates a clear 10.4" LCD colour display.

The CNC hand wheel enables safe and easy program prove out. Potential collision points can be recognised and avoided, and all movements can be optimised.

Through the Windows user interface and the extensive range of functions, programming is simplified to enable a fast-track learning curve even for first time users.

This latest-generation control has improved startup and shutdown times and a more responsive feel than the previous generation.

The system is equipped with RS232, PCMCIA, USB Memory Stick and (optional) LAN interfaces for program transfer.

Remote monitoring and diagnostics Allows the Service Team to remotely control your machine and provide you with support via. the Internet (if your company has a suitable broadband / leased line connection).
Alarm alerting system Automatically inform designated people in your organisation if an alarm occurs on one of your Citizen machines. Up to 100 machines can be simultaneously monitored. The message delivery can be via. voice message to land-line or mobile, SMS text message to a mobile or Email. Multiple recipients can be specified for each machine. This system is ideal for those running the machine unattended overnight.
CNC Wizard Low-cost Programming Aid for Citizen machines to speed-up part-program creation. The software leads you through creation of your part-program using clear diagrams, photos and text. A simple program can be potentially be written in a matter of minutes! Full editing and communications features are built into the software along with program validation checks. Ideal for both new and experienced Citizen users.
CNC Program Editor An easy-to-use Windows-based CNC program editing system with built-in support for program transfer over RS232 and (optionally on some models) Wireless LAN. Many support functions are included such as code templates for common processes and program validation checks.
