CITIZEN C32-VIII
 
Flexible and Cost-effective
 

Two gang tool holders and a high performance Windows-based CNC control enable shortest machining times for turned parts up to 32mm diameter. The Citizen C32-VIII uses common technology from the high-end M series and combines this with the high-productivity and efficiency of the C-Series.

The machine has 10 axes, 5 turning tools and 4 rotary tools on the first gang tool holder (for main spindle) and a further 9 end working tools on the second gang tool holder (4 front / 5 back - optionally 4 of these can be driven). The second gang tool holder is movable in the X and Z axis enabling simultaneous use of up to 3 tools drastically reducing cycle time.

Maximum cutting length is 320 mm in one chucking. However, with the optional long workpiece unit, components up to 600 mm can be machined. The main spindle is driven by a 5.5 kW motor and the sub-spindle has a 2.2 kW drive. The rotary tool drive on holder 1 has a 1 kW, AC spindle motor giving 5,000 revs/min. The optional driven tools on holder 2 have a 1kW, 4500 rpm AC spindle motor.

The intelligent design and low investment make the sliding head lathe C32-VIII a favourite in its class for highly cost-efficient production.

Machine Options
   
Long Parts Adaptor Suitable for parts up to 600mm in length, this device enables the workpiece to be removed from the machine through the rear of the sub-spindle. A gripper unit discharges the component to avoid marking.

Windows display screen features slot for PC card. The fully positionable control console enables the operator to observe the machining area and the program on the monitor at the same time. The handwheel feature provides the operator with a safe and convenient means of proving out programs prior to selecting the automatic mode. This is particularly useful to newcomers to CNC operation.

The storage and input of program data us simplified by the PC memory card slot (PCMCIA aka. PC Card).

Citizen's renowned ease of use, including the program prove-out handwheel, helps operators achieve fast changeovers.

Supporting Software Options
     
Remote monitoring and diagnostics Allows the Service Team to remotely control your machine and provide you with support via. the Internet (if your company has a suitable broadband / leased line connection).
Alarm alerting system Automatically inform designated people in your organisation if an alarm occurs on one of your Citizen machines. Up to 100 machines can be simultaneously monitored. The message delivery can be via. voice message to land-line or mobile, SMS text message to a mobile or Email. Multiple recipients can be specified for each machine. This system is ideal for those running the machine unattended overnight.
CNC Wizard Low-cost Programming Aid for Citizen machines to speed-up part-program creation. The software leads you through creation of your part-program using clear diagrams, photos and text. A simple program can be potentially be written in a matter of minutes! Full editing and communications features are built into the software along with program validation checks. Ideal for both new and experienced Citizen users.
CNC Program Editor An easy-to-use Windows-based CNC program editing system with built-in support for program transfer over RS232 and (optionally) Wireless LAN. Many support functions are included such as code templates for common processes and program validation checks.
